In a significant retaliatory move following the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched "Operation Sindoor" on Wednesday, targeting terrorist infrastructure inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation, which involved precision strikes on nine terror camps, comes in response to the deadly attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, which claimed the lives of 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen.

The Indian Armed Forces, in a coordinated effort, struck terrorist infrastructure used to plan and execute attacks against India. According to the Defence Ministry, the operation was "focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature," with no Pakistani military facilities targeted. The ministry emphasized India's commitment to holding terrorists accountable for their actions.

Details of the operation reveal that the strikes were carried out early Wednesday morning, with the biggest hits reported in Bahawalpur and Muridke, key terror camps associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. Sources indicate that over 80 terrorists were killed in the strikes, with Indian intelligence agencies verifying the number of casualties at other targeted camps. Precision strike weapon systems, including Kamikaze drones, were used in the attacks.

While there has been no direct statement from Paresh Rawal regarding "Operation Sindoor," the actor has been a vocal supporter of the Indian Armed Forces and Prime Minister Modi in the past. In 2019, following the Indian Air Force's air strikes on terror camps in Balakot, Rawal questioned Pakistani actor Ali Zafar's silence on the matter. He has also publicly stated that Prime Minister Modi answered people's doubts about the Indian Army's strength by authorizing surgical strikes.

The Indian Army has stated that "justice is served" following the strikes. Prime Minister Modi asserted that "Terrorism will not go unpunished". Meanwhile, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the strikes, calling them an "act of war". In the wake of the operation, Pakistan Army resorted to arbitrary firing from posts across the Line of Control (LoC), resulting in the deaths of three civilians in Jammu and Kashmir.

The operation has led to airspace restrictions, with Indian airlines canceling flights to and from various cities, including Jammu and Srinagar. Delhi Airport issued a passenger advisory due to the impact on services. India has also briefed the US, UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Russia on the strikes. NSA Ajit Doval spoke with US NSA and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, providing details and evidence of Pakistan-based terrorists' involvement in the Pahalgam attack.
