The upcoming Bollywood film Naagzilla, starring Kartik Aaryan, is generating buzz, particularly regarding who will play the antagonist. According to sources, Karan Johar has shortlisted two seasoned actors, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, for the role. The final decision on casting the villain rests on Kartik Aaryan.

Naagzilla is a creature comedy directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. Kartik Aaryan will be seen in a double role in the film. The film is produced by Karan Johar and Mahaveer Jain and is slated to release on August 14, 2026.

The makers are looking for a senior actor to play the negative lead, emphasizing that the villain's role is as important as the hero's. The team is being cautious about who they lock in for the film. The villain's character will undergo a transformation through prosthetics and visual effects.

In Naagzilla, Kartik Aaryan plays Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, a 631-year-old shape-shifting serpent. A motion poster revealing Kartik Aaryan's first look as an 'icchadhaari naag' (shape-shifting serpent) has already been released. The film is described as "Naag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand" (the first saga of the snake world), hinting at a potential franchise.

Ravi Kishan has reportedly joined the cast as the second male lead, marking his first on-screen collaboration with Kartik Aaryan. Makers were seeking an actor excelling in comedy, and instinctive acting. There are reports that the makers are looking for a third male lead.

Naagzilla blends folklore with fantasy and comedy. The film is inspired by the Godzilla franchise but with a desi twist. The movie involves a face-off against a mysterious snake, which leads to supernatural chaos.

The film is set to go on floors in September. Naagzilla is part of a multi-film collaboration between Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films.
