Wamiqa Gabbi is currently basking in the success of her latest film, Bhool Chuk Maaf, a fantasy romantic comedy where she stars opposite Rajkummar Rao. The film, directed by Karan Sharma, has garnered attention for its unique time-loop premise and the performances of its lead actors. Amidst the celebratory atmosphere, Wamiqa recently shared a heartwarming anecdote about a special message she received from filmmaker Imtiaz Ali before the film's release on May 23, 2025.

The connection between Wamiqa Gabbi and Imtiaz Ali goes back to the beginning of her career. She started her journey in the film industry as a background dancer in Ali's Love Aaj Kal. Interestingly, Bhool Chuk Maaf features a remixed version of the song "Chor Bazari" from Love Aaj Kal, titled "Chor Bazari Phir Se," playing during the end credits. This created a full-circle moment for the actress, acknowledging her humble beginnings and celebrating her growth.

Before the release of Bhool Chuk Maaf, Imtiaz Ali sent Wamiqa a heartfelt voice message. According to Wamiqa, the message concluded with the words "Well done Wamiqa," which deeply moved her. She emphasized that this gesture meant a lot to her, especially because Imtiaz didn't have to reach out, but he took the time to do so anyway. This simple acknowledgment from a director she admires served as a significant encouragement for Wamiqa as she embarked on this new chapter in her career.

In Bhool Chuk Maaf, Wamiqa portrays the character of Titli, a spirited small-town girl from Banaras. The film revolves around Ranjan (Rajkummar Rao), a hopeless romantic who gets stuck in a time loop, reliving his Haldi ceremony day over and over again. Titli remains unaware of this bizarre phenomenon, leading to humorous and chaotic situations. This film marks Wamiqa's first foray into the comedy genre, which she found both exciting and challenging.

The positive response to Bhool Chuk Maaf has been overwhelming for Wamiqa. She has expressed gratitude for the love and support she has received from the audience, attributing the film's success to their appreciation. The actress also shared that the reactions from her friends and family have made her realize the importance of this moment in her career. The support from her loved ones, particularly her father, has made her feel proud and emotional.

Bhool Chuk Maaf has opened to positive audience reviews and has made a promising start, earning an estimated ₹6.75 crore on its opening day. The film has been praised for its unique premise, Rajkummar Rao's performance, and Wamiqa Gabbi's fresh portrayal of her character. The movie is directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, in association with Amazon MGM Studios. The film also features Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, Raghubir Yadav and Zakir Hussain in pivotal roles.
