Ram Charan's critically acclaimed film Rangasthalam, directed by Sukumar, is set to captivate a new audience with a Japanese version releasing on an OTT platform. The film, which has already garnered significant appreciation globally, is preparing for a unique over-the-top (OTT) release.

While Telugu films often release in their original language with Japanese subtitles, Rangasthalam is taking a different approach by releasing a Japanese audio version. This move aims to provide Japanese-speaking fans with a more immersive experience of the blockbuster. The release date is yet to be announced but it will stream on Amazon Prime Video (Japan) with Telugu audio and Japanese subtitles.

Rangasthalam had already made a mark in Japan with its theatrical release in July 2023, earning 2.5 million yen from 70 screens on its opening day. The film's success in Japan reflects Ram Charan's popularity and the film's universal appeal.

Rangasthalam, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, features Ram Charan as Chitti Babu, a partially deaf man, alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Prakash Raj. The film also stars Jagapathi Babu, Naresh, Sunil Barve, Aadhi Pinisetty, and Anasuya Bharadwaj in pivotal roles. Set in a village in the 1980s, the narrative revolves around two brothers, Chittibabu and Kumar Babu, who challenge the village's corrupt local body and co-operative society, led by its president Phanindra Bhupathi.

The film marked a significant turning point in Ram Charan's career, showcasing his versatility and ability to portray challenging and unconventional characters. His portrayal of Chitti Babu earned him widespread acclaim from both fans and critics, who lauded his intensity, emotional range, and dedication to the role. Samantha Ruth Prabhu also received praise for her performance, adding depth and charm to her character and sharing great chemistry with Ram Charan. Devi Sri Prasad's electrifying soundtrack further elevated the film's impact. Rangasthalam also recently won the prestigious Gaddar Award, adding to its appeal.

The Japanese dubbed version promises to offer a fresh way for Japanese-speaking audiences to connect with this Telugu blockbuster. The film is currently available on Amazon Prime Video (Japan) with Telugu audio and Japanese subtitles.
