Kajol, a celebrated Bollywood actress known for her emotionally resonant performances, recently shared insights into her children's amusing reactions to her choice of roles. In a recent interview, Kajol revealed that her kids, 22-year-old Nysa and 14-year-old Yug, have strong opinions about her on-screen portrayals, preferring her to star in light-hearted, comedic roles similar to those of their father, Ajay Devgn, in the Golmaal series.

According to Kajol, Nysa and Yug are not fans of seeing her cry on screen. They want her to do films that only make them laugh, where "there is nobody crying, no glycerine is used, and nothing happens to me." Kajol jokingly wonders about the kind of film where she has nothing to do and questions why she would even be in it.

Kajol is venturing into new territory with her upcoming film, Maa, a horror film where she plays a fierce mother battling dark forces. The trailer depicts intense scenes, including her character being tortured. While fans are intrigued, Nysa, like her mother, isn't fond of horror films and may not watch it. However, the children's aversion to seeing their mother in distress remains consistent. They have always wanted their mother to do movies like her father.

Kajol, reflecting on her parenting style compared to her mother, veteran actress Tanuja, notes a difference. Tanuja had a much stricter, more regimented approach. Kajol describes her own style as calmer and cooler, acknowledging that her children are growing up with their own opinions and ideas. She mentioned how she used to be a helicopter parent like her role in Helicopter Eela but not anymore.

The actress is gearing up for a busy year with several projects in the pipeline. Apart from Maa, she will be seen in Maharagni: Queen of Queens, an action thriller reuniting her with Prabhu Deva after 27 years. She is also slated to appear in Sarzameen alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Maa, directed by Vishal Furia, is produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. The film, written by Saiwyn Quadras, also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma. Maa explores the battle between good and evil, promising suspense and drama, and is set to release in multiple languages on June 27th. It is also said to be part of the Shaitaan universe.

Despite her children's aversion to her emotional roles, Kajol remains one of Bollywood's most beloved actresses. Her ability to connect with audiences through diverse characters and genres has solidified her place in the industry for over three decades. While Nysa and Yug may prefer their mother in lighter roles, fans eagerly anticipate Kajol's performance in Maa and her other upcoming projects.
