A tragic incident involving Sunjay Kapur, the ex-husband of actress Karisma Kapoor, has recently captured public attention. Kapur, 53, passed away on June 12th after reportedly suffering a heart attack during a polo match in London. Initial reports suggest that a bee flew into his mouth, blocking his windpipe and triggering the heart attack.

Following his death, a video has surfaced online showing the moments after he collapsed on the polo field. The footage, shared by a close friend, Ajit Nandal, shows medical personnel administering CPR while attempting to revive him. The video has gone viral, drawing mixed reactions from viewers, with some expressing sadness and others criticizing the insensitivity of sharing such a personal and tragic moment.

Kapur's funeral was held in Delhi on June 19th and was attended by Karisma Kapoor and their children, Samaira and Kiaan, as well as Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan. The last rites were delayed due to legal formalities related to Kapur's US citizenship. A prayer meet is scheduled for June 22nd at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi.

Sunjay Kapur was part of the Aureus polo team and was playing against the Sujan team, owned by hotelier Jaisal Singh, at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor when the incident occurred. Witnesses reported that he felt suffocated and asked for the match to be stopped before collapsing. He is survived by his wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur, their son Azarias, his mother, Rani Surinder Kapur, and his children from his previous marriage.

In other news, Soori's family drama "Maaman," co-starring Aishwarya Lekshmi, is reportedly set for its Over-The-Top (OTT) release on June 20, 2025, on ZEE5.

"Maaman," directed by Prasanth Pandiyaraj and written by Soori himself, explores the relationship between a maternal uncle and his nephew. The story revolves around Inba (Soori), a caring uncle whose life centers around his nephew, Laddu. However, the entry of Rekha (Aishwarya Lekshmi) into Inba's life as his wife brings changes, and Rekha finds herself alienated in a family where Laddu is the focus of Inba's affection. Laddu, accustomed to having Inba all to himself, begins to see Rekha as a rival, leading to misunderstandings and disputes within the couple's matrimonial life.

The film, produced by K. Kumar under Lark Studios, features Rajkiran, Swasika, Bala Saravanan, and Baba Bhaskar in supporting roles. With music by Hesham Abdul Wahab, cinematography by Dinesh Purushothaman, and editing by Ganesh Siva, "Maaman" has garnered attention for its emotional depth and relatable narrative. The Times of India gave the movie 2.5 out of 5 stars, noting that while it touches on interesting themes such as integrating into a close-knit family and power dynamics, it "rarely commits to exploring them with any real depth."

ZEE5 has acquired the digital streaming rights for "Maaman," while Zee Tamil will handle the satellite broadcast. The film has received a clean U certificate, making it suitable for family viewing, with a blend of emotion, drama, and life experiences.
