Season 4 of "Panchayat," now streaming on Amazon Prime Video since June 24, 2025, has brought both excitement and a shift in dynamics to the beloved village of Phulera. The series continues to follow Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar), the reluctant engineering graduate turned Panchayat secretary, but this season introduces a more intense focus on village politics, particularly the Panchayat elections.

One of the major highlights of this season is the central conflict: the heated election between Manju Devi (Neena Gupta), the current Pradhan, and Kranti Devi (Sunita Rajwar). This rivalry brings to the forefront the political maneuvering and social dynamics within Phulera, showcasing the strategies and tactics employed by both sides to win the election. As described in several reviews, the election plot becomes the heart of the season, filled with drama and humor.

Raghubir Yadav, as Pradhan Ji (Brij Bhushan Dubey), plays a crucial role, and the season delves into his character's complexities as he navigates the challenges of maintaining his and his wife's position in the village. While previous seasons highlighted Pradhan Ji as a clever and good-hearted leader, Season 4 explores his flaws and vulnerabilities as he resorts to populist measures to regain power. Despite this shift, Yadav delivers a memorable performance, particularly in the final episode.

The focus on elections has changed the tone of the series. Some viewers feel the show has lost some of its initial charm and simplicity. The shift towards political machinations has overshadowed the human emotions. However, others argue that this change is a natural progression for the series, reflecting the realities of rural life and the evolving relationships between the villagers.

Jitendra Kumar continues to deliver a strong performance as Abhishek Tripathi, balancing his ambitions for an MBA with his growing responsibilities and connections in Phulera. Neena Gupta, as Manju Devi, and Faisal Malik, as Prahlad, also contribute with their natural performances, maintaining the authenticity and emotional texture of the village setting. Durgesh Kumar, as Bhushan, emerges as a standout, bringing energy to his role as the village troublemaker, while Sunita Rajwar, as Kranti Devi, offers strong support and holds her own in key scenes.

Adding to the season's intrigue is the arrival of a new MP, played by Swanand Kirkire, which shakes things up further. The introduction of new characters, such as Manju Devi's father, also provides interesting subplots.

The ending of Season 4 leaves several questions unanswered, setting the stage for a potential Season 5. Kranti Devi wins the election by a narrow margin of 73 votes. Abhishek receives a score of 97 percentile on his MBA entrance exam, almost guaranteeing him admission into a good B-school.
