The sudden death of actress and model Shefali Jariwala at the age of 42 has prompted investigations into the potential role of anti-aging medicines in her cardiac arrest. While the official cause of death is yet to be ascertained, preliminary findings and police sources suggest a possible link between her long-term use of these drugs and her deteriorating health.

According to reports, Shefali had been regularly consuming anti-aging medicines for the past seven to eight years. On June 27, 2025, the day of her death, she had a 'puja' at home and was fasting. Despite fasting, she reportedly took an anti-aging injection in the afternoon. Later that night, between 10 and 11 PM, her health deteriorated rapidly. She began shivering, her blood pressure dropped drastically, and she eventually fell unconscious. Her family rushed her to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital in Andheri, where doctors declared her dead.

Sources suggest the anti-aging medicines could be a major reason for her cardiac arrest. The forensic team has seized various items from her residence, including anti-aging vials, vitamin supplements, and gastric pills. These have been sent for testing to determine their composition and usage.

While the exact nature of the anti-aging treatment remains undisclosed, some reports indicate it included Vitamin C and Glutathione. It is also suggested that hormonal injections, including steroids, growth hormones, and testosterone, can disrupt heart function, alter blood pressure, and trigger arrhythmias, potentially leading to sudden cardiac arrest, especially when taken on an empty stomach or combined with other medications.

Police have recorded statements from eight people, including family members, domestic staff, and doctors from Bellevue Hospital. Investigators are exploring whether consuming pills on an empty stomach, combined with the anti-aging injection, may have worsened her condition.

Shefali's doctor revealed that she had been undergoing anti-aging treatment for the past five to six years and had no known heart-related condition. The doctor's statement confirms she was not on any heart-related medication.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are awaiting the results of the post-mortem examination and lab tests of the seized medicines before reaching a conclusion. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) stated that Shefali died after suffering a sudden heart attack. The possibility of a drug reaction is also being considered.
