The teaser for Farhan Akhtar's upcoming war epic, 120 Bahadur, is set to launch on August 5. This film marks Akhtar's return to acting after a four-year hiatus. 120 Bahadur is based on the life of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati (PVC) and the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Indo-China War.
The teaser promises to offer compelling and gritty glimpses of the war drama, showcasing the raw elements of the story. It was filmed in the harsh landscapes of Ladakh. To maximize its reach, the 120 Bahadur teaser will be attached to the theatrical prints of War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani. This strategic move ensures the teaser will be seen by a large audience.
120 Bahadur aims to honor the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1962 Indo-China War. The film specifically highlights the extraordinary stand taken by the 13 Kumaon Regiment’s Charlie Company, led by Major Shaitan Singh PVC. On November 18, 1962, 120 soldiers of Charlie Company faced over 3,000 Chinese troops in freezing conditions in Ladakh. Despite being outnumbered, they fought to their last breath, making Rezang La a symbol of sacrifice and heroism in Indian military history.
Farhan Akhtar plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati (PVC). Akhtar underwent military-style training and acclimatization at high altitude for the role. He also shot in Ladakh at around 14,000 feet, where temperatures often dropped to -5 or even -10 degrees Celsius. Akhtar shared that it felt special to return to Ladakh 20 years after filming Lakshya.
Directed by Razneesh 'Razy' Ghai, 120 Bahadur is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment), and Amit Chandrra (Trigger Happy Studios). The film is scheduled to release in theaters on November 21, 2025. Raashii Khanna has joined the cast in a pivotal role. Makers of the film felt that Khanna would be able to hold her ground in a story which is so patriotic and hard-hitting, and bring added depth.
