The legal battle surrounding the movie It Ends With Us has taken another turn, with Justin Baldoni responding to harassment claims made by Isabela Ferrer, who played the younger version of Blake Lively's character, Lily Bloom. Ferrer accuses Baldoni of bullying and inappropriate conduct after she was subpoenaed in the ongoing case between Lively and Baldoni.
Ferrer's legal team claims that after Lively's team subpoenaed Ferrer in February, requesting communications related to the case, Ferrer sought to have her legal fees covered by Baldoni's production company, Wayfarer Studios, as stipulated in her contract. However, Wayfarer allegedly made the coverage conditional on Ferrer relinquishing control of her legal response to them. Ferrer refused, and her attorneys now claim that Baldoni has since attempted to manipulate, threaten, and control her. They further allege that Baldoni's recent subpoena request is an act of harassment, particularly as it overlaps significantly with the one already issued by Lively. They accuse Baldoni's team of disclosing addresses linked to Ferrer and engaging in bad faith tactics with the aim of harassing the actress. Ferrer has requested the court to deny Baldoni's motion and impose sanctions. Ferrer's lawyers called Baldoni's motion “yet another attempt to manipulate the press, to create havoc on a young, up-and-coming and talented actress and to violate this Court's policies on the publishing of non-party personally identifying information”. They added that she has “had to resist Baldoni's inappropriate conduct in connection with her response to the Lively Subpoena” and has faced “personal threats and hateful statements” on social media since his motion was filed.
Baldoni's legal team has responded, dismissing Ferrer's claims as an "inappropriate attack" on Baldoni and his counsel, arguing that they are irrelevant to the matter of whether Ferrer should be served a subpoena. They state that the subpoena issued to Ferrer was to obtain "documents that she either neglected to produce or were not requested by" the one previously served to her by Lively in February. Baldoni's attorneys are objecting to Ferrer's lawyers' claim that serving Ferrer with a subpoena constitutes Baldoni "harassing" the actress.
This dispute is unfolding against the backdrop of a larger legal battle initiated by Blake Lively, who filed a complaint in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation against Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios. Baldoni has denied these allegations and countersued for defamation; however, the countersuit was dismissed earlier this year. The trial for the Lively v. Wayfarer Studios et al. case is scheduled for March 2026.
