Anita Verma-Lallian is the Indian-origin entrepreneur, real estate consultant, and film producer who recently purchased the Los Angeles home of the late actor Matthew Perry. She acquired the Pacific Palisades property, where the Friends star tragically passed away in October 2023, for $8.55 million in an off-market deal.

Verma-Lallian's decision to buy the house was driven by her love for the property itself, particularly its stunning ocean views. "The moment I walked into the home, I absolutely fell in love with the features, especially the view of the Pacific Ocean," she shared in an Instagram post. "We knew it was 'the one' and decided to write an offer on it immediately". She has stated that the purchase had "nothing to do with the previous owner, just our love of the home".

As a person with Hindu traditions, Verma-Lallian had a "puja" ceremony performed by a Pandit from Arizona to bless the house. This is a customary practice in Hinduism when buying a new home. She seems to embrace the history of the property and believes "every home carries the energy that the current owner brings to it".

While Verma-Lallian intends to redesign the house, she also aims to honor Perry's legacy. She plans to retain some of the home's unique features, most notably the Batman logo in the pool. Perry was a known Batman fan, even referring to himself as "Mattman" and incorporating Batman-themed décor into his home. "We chose to honor the positive aspects of the previous owner's life, his immense talent, and all the joy he brought to so many people," Verma-Lallian explained.

Matthew Perry originally purchased the 3,500-square-foot house, which features four bedrooms and four bathrooms, in 2020 for $6 million. Built in 1965, the house sits on 0.4 acres. Verma-Lallian intends to use it as a vacation home.
