Alibaug, Maharashtra – Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was recently spotted filming pivotal scenes for the upcoming thriller "Haiwaan" in Alibaug. The Priyadarshan directorial, which also stars Akshay Kumar, has been generating buzz due to the reunion of the two actors after a long hiatus.

According to a source close to the project, the Alibaug schedule is crucial for establishing Saif's character in the film. "There are a few portions we are shooting with Saif in Alibaug. These sequences are crucial in building his character in the film," the source revealed. Saif was seen arriving in the coastal town via speedboat, sparking speculation about his involvement in the "Haiwaan" shoot.

"Haiwaan," produced by KVN Productions in association with Thespian Films and jointly produced by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Fenn, is anticipated to be a thrilling cinematic experience. The film is slated for release in 2026.

Earlier this month, parts of the movie were filmed in Mumbai, specifically in the Churchgate and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus areas. Action sequences, reportedly choreographed by Stunt Silva and featuring a large number of cars and junior artists, were filmed over five nights.

Akshay Kumar announced the commencement of "Haiwaan"'s shooting on social media in August 2025, marking his reunion with Saif Ali Khan after 18 years. Kumar shared a video featuring playful banter with Priyadarshan, hinting at the film's themes of good and evil.

"Haiwaan" is rumored to be a Hindi remake of the Malayalam thriller "Oppam," starring Mohanlal. The original film revolves around a visually impaired man who defends a judge's daughter after the judge is murdered. While details of the plot are still under wraps, Saif Ali Khan has confirmed that he plays a blind character in the film.

The film's shooting has taken place across various locations. The first schedule was filmed in Kochi, Vagamon, and Ooty. The crew has expressed satisfaction with the picturesque locations that served as the backdrop for the film. A crew member shared their excitement about returning to Mumbai for the next phase of filming after wrapping up the outdoor schedule.

"Haiwaan" marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after their last appearance together in the 2008 film "Tashan". The two have starred in several popular films in the 1990s, including "Main Khiladi Tu Anari" and "Yeh Dillagi".
