Euphoria Season 3 Trailer Breaks Records: HBO Max Hit With 100 Million Views in Just Two Days

The trailer for the highly anticipated third season of "Euphoria" has become the most-watched original series trailer in HBO Max history, amassing nearly 100 million views within its first 48 hours. The trailer, released on January 14, 2026, quickly gained traction across various social media platforms, including YouTube and the show's official Instagram page. According to Deadline, this milestone marks the largest original series trailer launch in HBO Max history during that timeframe.

"Euphoria" finished airing its second season in February 2022. The series is set to return on April 12, 2026, after a four-year hiatus.

While it is not clear which series previously held the record, HBO Max has launched trailers for major hits such as "The Last of Us" and "Game of Thrones" to similar viewing success. For instance, the trailer for "The Last of Us" Season 2 garnered 158 million cross-platform views globally in three days in 2024. The preview for the final season of "Game of Thrones" in 2019 had 81 million views in 24 hours.

Season 3 picks up five years after the events of Season 2 and introduces viewers to the evolved lives of the main characters. Rue (Zendaya) is south of the border and in debt to drug dealer Laurie. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are now an engaged couple, Jules (Hunter Schafer) is an art school student, Maddy (Alexa Demie) is an aspiring talent agent, and Lexi (Maude Apatow) is working as a showrunner's assistant to guest star Sharon Stone. New cast members include Sharon Stone, Rosalía, and Eli Roth.

In the trailer, Rue reflects on her life, stating, "A few years after high school, I don't know if life was exactly what I wished, but somehow, for the first time, I was beginning to have faith". However, her progress is threatened when Laurie arrives with her armed squad to collect on Rue's debts. Meanwhile, Cassie's new career as a cam girl causes friction with Nate, who now works in construction and laments, "My bride-to-be is spread eagle on the internet".

The series reunites its principal cast, including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Sydney Sweeney, and Maude Apatow. Eric Dane, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Colman Domingo, Dominic Fike, Nika King, Alanna Ubach, Sophia Rose Wilson, Melvin Bonez Estes, Daeg Faerch, Paula Marshall, Zak Steiner, and Marsha Gambles also return for the third season.

The second season finale of "Euphoria" attracted 6.6 million viewers across all HBO platforms, surpassing the Season 1 finale's 530,000 viewers. The network anticipates that the third season will break the records of previous seasons.
