South Indian Cinema's Box Office Power: Marali Manasaagide and Seetha Payanam Lead Theatrical Charge This Week

This week, South Indian cinema is set to dominate theaters with a diverse range of new releases spanning across Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada languages. Among the highly anticipated films are "Marali Manasaagide" and "Seetha Payanam," each offering unique narratives and star-studded casts.

"Marali Manasaagide," a Kannada drama directed by Nagaraja Shankar, is scheduled to hit theaters on February 12, 2026. The film features Arjun Vedanta, Nireeksha Shetty, and Smruthy Venkatesh in leading roles. The story revolves around Vikas, a hyperactive man who finds himself on a journey with two contrasting female characters, Chitra and Spoorthi. As Vikas navigates their differing personalities, he learns valuable lessons about family, friendship, and the complexities of the modern generation.

"Seetha Payanam," a Telugu drama, is slated for release on February 14, 2026. Directed by Jagan, U.L. Murthy, and Arjun Sarja, the film boasts a cast including Prakash Raj, Jayaram, and Arjun Sarja. The plot centers on Seetha, a young chef who survives an accident thanks to the help of several good Samaritans. Determined to express her gratitude, she embarks on a quest to find them. During her search, she encounters Abhishek, a mysterious stranger with hidden secrets, and finds herself falling in love.

In addition to "Marali Manasaagide" and "Seetha Payanam," several other South Indian films are expected to draw audiences to theaters this week. "Funky," a Telugu comedy-drama directed by Anudeep KV and starring Vishwak Sen and Kayadu Lohar, is set to release on February 13, 2026. "Couple Friendly," another Telugu film directed by Ashwin Chandrasekhar and featuring Santosh Sobhan and Manasa Varanasi, will also be released on February 14, 2026.

The Tamil film industry is also contributing to the cinematic offerings this week with releases like "Sweety Naughty Crazy," a comedy-drama-romance directed by Rajasekar G. and "Kaa - The Forest," an adventure-crime-thriller directed by Nanjil Nagarajan, both scheduled for February 13, 2026. Kannada cinema adds to the mix with "Sarala Subbarao," a drama directed by Manju Swaraj, releasing on February 12, 2026.
