Kangana Ranaut recently paid tribute to the late singer and music composer Zubeen Garg, known for his contribution to her debut film, "Gangster". Ranaut took to her Instagram stories to share her sentiments, expressing her admiration for the Assamese icon.

In her first story, Kangana posted a photograph of a young Zubeen Garg, captioning it with "#Zubeenda". Following this, she shared the poster of the 2006 film "Gangster," which marked her entry into Bollywood. To further honor Garg, she added his iconic song "Ya Ali" to the story. She captioned the poster with "#zubeenda No one like you!".

Zubeen Garg, a prominent figure in Assam's cultural landscape, passed away on September 19 in Singapore. Initial reports suggested a scuba diving accident, but later clarifications from Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma indicated that Garg drowned while swimming without a life jacket.

Garg was a versatile artist, renowned for his contributions as a singer, actor, and director in Assamese cinema. He gained nationwide recognition with the hit song "Ya Ali" from "Gangster" and went on to deliver other popular tracks such as "Dil Tu Hi Bataa" from "Krrish 3," which also featured Kangana Ranaut. His work spanned across more than 40 languages and dialects.

The Assam government has initiated a formal probe into the circumstances surrounding Zubeen Garg's death and has declared a three-day state mourning in honor of the artist. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is currently investigating the death.
