Anita Hassanandani has emerged victorious in the inaugural season of "Chhoriyan Chali Gaon," a Zee TV reality show that immersed celebrities in the heart of rural India. The grand finale, which aired this weekend, marked the culmination of two months of challenges, emotional moments, and personal growth for the contestants. Hosted by Rannvijay Singha, the show distinguished itself by highlighting the unfiltered beauty of rural life and testing the resilience of its celebrity participants.
Hassanandani's journey on "Chhoriyan Chali Gaon" showcased her adaptability, determination, and ability to connect with the local community. Tasks ranged from milking cows and fetching water to cooking on traditional stoves and embracing regional customs. Throughout the competition, Anita displayed a fearless and confident approach, tackling demanding tasks with grit and making personal sacrifices. In the finale, Anita Hassanandani competed against Krishna Shroff and Surabhi Mehra, ultimately triumphing in the Gram Panchayat Election Task. Her victory was celebrated with much fanfare, including traditional dhol-taashe and enthusiastic participation from the villagers.
Reflecting on her win, Anita shared that the experience pushed her far beyond her comfort zone and led to significant personal growth. "When I agreed to be part of Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, I knew it would push me far out of my comfort zone, but I didn't anticipate just how much I would grow through the experience," she said. She dedicated her victory to her family, stating that her husband, Rohit, and son, Aaravv, were her biggest motivation throughout the journey. "From day one, I kept telling myself I wanted to win this for Aaravv and Rohit; they have been my biggest motivation throughout. Every time I struggled or missed home, I thought of them and pushed myself harder," Anita added.
Anita also expressed that she has grasped the true essence of happiness after participating in Chhoriyan Chali Gaon. The Naagin star stated, “I have grasped the genuine meaning of happiness. It can be found in the little things. We should focus on such joys instead of getting caught up in the challenges of urban life. We must embrace the present moment".
Producer Ektaa Kapoor, a long-time friend and supporter of Anita Hassanandani, celebrated her win on social media, expressing immense pride in Anita's achievement.
"Chhoriyan Chali Gaon," which premiered on August 3, 2025, featured a diverse group of contestants, including Anita Hassanandani, Krishna Shroff, Aishwarya Khare, Sumukhi Suresh, Anjumm Faakih, Reha Sukheja, Rameet Sandhu, Erika Packard, twin sisters Surabhi and Samriddhi Mehra (Chinki-Minki), Dolly Javed, and Maera Misshra. The show tested the urban women in a rural setting. They took on tasks like milking cows, fetching water, cooking on chulhas, teaching locals, and learning regional traditions. The finale had Krishna Shroff, Erika Packard, Surabhi Mehra, Dolly Javed, and Anita Hassanandani.
