Jyoti Singh Alleges Police Prevented Entry to Pawan Singh's Home, Threatens Suicide By Poison Consumption

Lucknow, October 6, 2025 – Jyoti Singh, the wife of Bhojpuri actor and politician Pawan Singh, was seen in distress outside her husband's Lucknow residence on Sunday, October 5, 2025, alleging that police prevented her from entering the home. The situation escalated when Jyoti threatened to consume poison if she was not granted justice, claiming she was being publicly humiliated.

According to reports, Jyoti Singh arrived at Pawan Singh's residence in Lucknow, intending to meet with him and his family. However, she was met by police officers who, she claims, prevented her from entering the house, stating that Pawan Singh had filed a First Information Report (FIR) against her.

A video circulating online shows Jyoti Singh in tears, pleading with authorities and questioning why she was being denied access to her husband's home. "I have come to my husband Pawan Singh's house," she is heard saying in the video. "He has filed an FIR against me. Now the police have come to take me away. What crime have I committed?".

In the video, police officers can be heard requesting Jyoti to accompany them to the police station, clarifying that no case had been registered against her at that time but that the Inspector had issued a summons. Jyoti, however, insisted that she was being publicly humiliated. A female police officer stated there were ongoing legal proceedings between both parties and that Jyoti had leveled allegations of murder against Pawan, which Jyoti denied, clarifying that her complaint pertained solely to maintenance proceedings.

The situation took a dramatic turn when Jyoti Singh threatened self-harm if she did not receive justice. "If I don't get justice, I will consume poison here," she declared. "Only my dead body will leave this house. This is the last time I am saying this. I am a daughter and daughter-in-law of respectable families. If I have to go to the police station, I will consume poison right here. Enough is enough. Give me justice".

Prior to her visit, Jyoti Singh had posted a public message on social media addressed to Pawan Singh, expressing her intention to meet him and his family in Lucknow. "Dear husband, Mr. Pawan Singh, I am coming to your residence in Lucknow tomorrow to meet you and your family," she wrote. "I will wait for you there for two days".

The couple's marital discord has been public for several years, with their divorce case currently in court. In October 2021, Jyoti Singh filed for divorce, alleging domestic abuse and marital disputes and claiming that Pawan Singh forced her to undergo abortions after their marriage. The divorce case includes disputes over alimony and property settlement. In 2022, Jyoti Singh accused Pawan Singh of mental harassment, forcing her to go for an abortion, and instigating her to commit suicide. She claimed that after their marriage in 2018, Pawan Singh's mother and sister taunted her for her looks and that she was tortured and abused.

Pawan Singh, a prominent figure in Bhojpuri cinema and politics, has faced various controversies throughout his career. In September 2025, he faced legal issues in Varanasi, where a complaint alleged that he had cheated a hotelier. In 2019, actress Akshara Singh filed a FIR against Singh, alleging threats and vulgar content on social media after their breakup. Singh's first wife, Neelam Singh, died by suicide in 2015.
