Ike Turner Jr., the son of music legends Ike and Tina Turner and a Grammy-winning musician himself, has died at the age of 67. He passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in a Los Angeles hospital. The cause of death was kidney failure, according to his cousin, Jacqueline Bullock. Bullock also told TMZ that Turner Jr. had been battling severe heart issues for years and had suffered a stroke in early September.

Born in 1958 to Ike Turner Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, Ike Turner Jr. was later adopted by Tina Turner. Growing up in the famed Turner household, he displayed an early talent for music, mastering various instruments. Although he favored the drums, his mother, Tina, encouraged him to explore other instruments, leading him to the keys.

Turner Jr. followed in his parents' footsteps and became deeply involved in music production. He helped manage Bolic Sound Studios, the recording facility founded by his father. As a sound engineer, he contributed to his father's final album, "Risin' With The Blues," which won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album in 2007.

Bullock remembered Turner Jr.'s musical skills, stating, "As the son of Tina and Ike Turner, from an early age, his talents were evident as there wasn't an instrument he did not want to play". She also shared a statement with The New York Post, " 'Junior' was more than a cousin to me, but rather a brother, as we grew up in the same famed household together".

Despite his musical achievements, Turner Jr. faced personal challenges. In a 2018 interview with the Daily Mail, he revealed that he had been raised largely by housekeepers while his parents toured extensively. He also spoke candidly about his childhood and relationship with his parents.

News of his death prompted heartfelt tributes. Afida Turner, the wife of Ike Turner Jr.'s late half-brother, Ronnie Turner, mourned him on Instagram, calling him an "amazing brother-in-law". She shared that she was "glad" to have spoken with him on the phone before his death.

Ike Turner Jr. is survived by his siblings Michael, Mia, and Raymond Craig Turner. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tina Turner, who passed away in May 2023 at the age of 83, his father, Ike Turner Sr., who died in December 2007, and his brothers Craig and Ronnie Turner. Craig died by suicide in 2018, and Ronnie died of colon cancer complications in 2022.
