Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam are capturing hearts with their old-school romance in "Qubool," the first song released from their upcoming film, Haq. The song, which dropped recently, showcases the palpable chemistry between the two actors in a tender and timeless love story.
"Qubool" is composed by Vishal Mishra, with lyrics penned by Kaushal Kishore and sung by Armaan Khan. The music video complements the song's emotional depth, featuring Hashmi and Gautam in various endearing settings that evoke a sense of classic romance. The visuals portray the journey of their relationship, from falling in love to getting married and starting a family. One particularly sweet scene involves Gautam's character discovering a rose tucked between the pages of a book.
The song is described as a beautiful representation of unspoken love, with poignant lyrics that capture the essence of a love that transcends words. Khan's soulful voice adds to the emotional richness of the track, making it a stirring expression of love communicated through silences, glances, and longing.
Hashmi expressed that "Qubool" embodies the soul of the film, with Mishra creating a melody filled with emotion that beautifully supports the heart of their story. Gautam added that the song reflects her character's vulnerability and strength, and performing it was about expressing love while also channeling the emotional storm within. Mishra aimed for the song to feel pure, intimate, and cinematic, allowing the music to speak when words fall short.
Haq, inspired by the landmark Supreme Court judgement of the Mohd. Ahmed Khan vs. Shah Bano Begum case, is directed by Suparn S Varma. The film, produced by Junglee Pictures in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, is set to release in theaters on November 7, 2025.
The film stars Yami Gautam as Shazia Bano, a fictionalized version of Shah Bano, and Emraan Hashmi as her husband, Abbas. The narrative revolves around Shazia Bano's fight for her rights after being abandoned by her husband, sparking a national debate about faith, women's rights, and justice. The film will explore significant questions around justice, personal law, and the Uniform Civil Code.
"Qubool" is part of the Haq soundtrack, which promises more emotionally charged tracks, including "Dil Tod Gaya Tu" and other unreleased songs. The film also features Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Hussain, and Aseem Hattangady in key roles.
Mandar Thakur, CEO of Times Music/Junglee Music, shared his excitement about presenting "Qubool" as the first release from Haq, emphasizing that Vishal's music adds emotional depth to the film, making the track even more meaningful with Hashmi and Gautam's performances.
"Qubool" is now available on all major streaming platforms and YouTube via Junglee Music.
