The possibility of BTS performing in India as part of their anticipated 2026 comeback tour has ignited a frenzy among Indian fans, known as ARMY. Unverified reports suggest that the globally popular K-pop group is planning a 20-city world tour, with Mumbai potentially included as a tour stop.
The rumored tour, which would be BTS's first-ever performance in India, has generated significant excitement. According to circulating reports, alleged Live Nation touring data indicates that the tour itinerary may feature major global cities such as Seoul, Tokyo, Bangkok, Los Angeles, London, Paris, São Paulo, Mumbai, New York City, Chicago, Mexico City, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Manila, Jakarta, Berlin, Toronto, and Las Vegas.
The inclusion of Mumbai is particularly noteworthy, as India has rarely been included on K-pop world tour schedules, despite its substantial fanbase. BTS members have previously expressed their desire to perform for their Indian fans. A planned stop in India for the group's 2020 Map of the Soul tour was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving fans hopeful for a future opportunity.
Adding to the speculation, HYBE, the entertainment company behind BTS, recently established an overseas headquarters in Mumbai to expand its presence in South Asia. This development has heightened expectations that India could become a regular stop for major K-pop tours.
Neither HYBE nor BIGHIT MUSIC has officially confirmed the 2026 tour or its destinations. However, BTS is reportedly preparing for a spring 2026 comeback album, which will mark their first full-scale musical release following the completion of their military service obligations. Jungkook and Jimin, two of the BTS members, completed their military service in June 2025. The band reunited in South Korea in September, after V and RM came back from Los Angeles. Their last collective studio album, "Proof", was released in 2022.
If the rumors turn out to be true, fans can expect massive stadium venues like DY Patil Stadium or Wankhede to be potential concert spots and tickets selling out within minutes once bookings go live. A blend of new songs and timeless hits, would also be anticipated.
The potential concert marks a long-awaited dream for Indian ARMYs. In the past, RM, the group's leader, mentioned plans to perform in Mumbai during their Map of the Soul tour which was unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic.
Until HYBE makes an official announcement, fans are keeping their "purple hearts ready" and continuing to hope for #BTSinMumbai.
