Ayushmann Khurrana's Apology to Nawazuddin Siddiqui on Thamma Sets: Understanding the Reason Behind the Gesture

Ayushmann Khurrana Apologised To Nawazuddin Siddiqui On 'Thamma' Sets For THIS Reason

During the filming of the recently released horror-comedy, Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, an on-set incident led to Ayushmann Khurrana extending an apology to his co-star, Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

The incident occurred during a fight sequence between their characters. According to Ayushmann, while shooting the scene, his hand accidentally made contact with Nawazuddin, resulting in a mishap with Nawazuddin's fake tooth. "It was during a fight sequence, and I accidentally touched him," Ayushmann explained. "The fake tooth broke. Thankfully, it was a fake tooth that broke!" He further added humorously that he apologized, acknowledging that "with the picture, life's continuity could have changed".

Following the incident, Ayushmann expressed his remorse by sending Nawazuddin flowers and a heartfelt letter. In the letter, Ayushmann conveyed his apologies for the accidental mishap during the fight sequence. Although Nawazuddin didn't immediately respond, he later acknowledged receiving the note and expressed his appreciation.

In an interview, Nawazuddin also addressed the incident, revealing that while he felt like laughing at the situation, he had to maintain his composure for the scene. He also confirmed that the tooth that broke during the scene was indeed a fake one.

Thamma has been described as a blend of horror, humor, and heart, drawing from Indian folklore and the concept of "betaalism". Ayushmann plays Alok, whose life takes a turn after encountering Nawazuddin's character, a vetal. Nawazuddin's character transfers his powers to Ayushmann's protagonist after they come into contact with each other.

The film marks Ayushmann Khurrana's first Diwali release, fulfilling a long-held dream. He shared his excitement on social media, expressing how he used to watch films in theaters with his family every Diwali and how incredible it felt to now have his own film releasing during the festival. Thamma has also become Ayushmann's biggest opener to date, earning ₹24 crore.

Recently, Ayushmann was seen offering a public apology to paparazzi after making them wait for a considerable amount of time at Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai. The actor visited the temple to seek blessings following the film's successful opening.
