Sean "Diddy" Combs, once known for his extravagant Halloween parties filled with designer costumes, flowing Ciroc vodka, and A-list guests like Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Usher, is facing a drastically different Halloween this year. The 55-year-old music mogul, now identified as inmate #37452-054 at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, will be spending the spooky night under the facility's fluorescent lights, trading his signature swagger for prison garb and a simple meal.
Instead of candy and gourmet spreads, Combs' Halloween menu consists of baked fish, spinach, and coleslaw. According to an MDC spokesperson, the institution is following one rule on October 31st: "No candies on Halloween".
His day will begin at 6:00 a.m. with a breakfast of fruit, assorted cereal, a pastry, sugar packets, and skim milk. Lunch, served around 11 a.m., features baked fish (or black beans as an alternative), rice pilaf, spinach, coleslaw, a slice of bread, tartar sauce, fruit, and a beverage. After the 4 p.m. headcount, dinner will consist of turkey roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, whole wheat bread, and a drop of margarine. For inmates who don't eat meat, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are offered as an alternative.
This stark contrast highlights the severe lifestyle change Combs is experiencing. He has gone from hosting legendary parties to waking up to the clang of metal doors in a dormitory-style unit with about twenty other men. His days now consist of early lights, card games, and the quiet hum of a microwave, a far cry from the tracks of Bad Boy Records.
Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. While he was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, he is expected to remain incarcerated until May 8, 2028, factoring in potential early release for good behavior and time already served since his arrest in 2024.
The circumstances surrounding Combs' legal issues have also inspired some controversial Halloween costumes. Some have chosen to dress as "Diddy" alongside someone dressed as a bottle of baby oil, referencing allegations made in one lawsuit that Combs had baby oil laced with drugs. These costumes have sparked online debate, with some criticizing them as insensitive and offensive.
