Kavin and Preethi Asrani's romantic fantasy film, "Kiss," is set to premiere on ZEE5 on November 7th. Directed by Sathish Krishnan, "Kiss" marks his directorial debut and promises a heartwarming blend of love, humor, and fantasy.
The film stars Kavin as Nelson Marcus, a young musician who isn't particularly fond of love and romance due to his divorced parents. Nelson possesses a mysterious ability: whenever he witnesses a couple kissing, he can foresee the fate of their relationship. Preethi Asrani plays Sarah William, a dancer who challenges Nelson's cynical views on love and destiny.
"Kiss" explores Nelson's journey as he grapples with his newfound ability and his evolving feelings for Sarah. The film asks whether love can truly rewrite fate. The narrative begins when Nelson comes across a mysterious book given to him by Sarah, which gives him the power to see a couple's future when they kiss. Frustrated by this power, he seeks advice from his best friend Sam's father, a therapist. The therapist suggests he return the book to Sarah, which leads Nelson to experience a different kind of magic.
The movie features a strong supporting cast, including RJ Vijay as Sam, VTV Ganesh as Dr. Thirunavukkarasu (Sam's father), Prabhu as Swaminathan, Rao Ramesh as Nelson's father Marcus, Devayani as Nelson's mother Daisy, Sakthi Raj as Jason Marcus (Nelson's brother), Mathew Varghese as a judge, and Kausalya as Lily, Marcus's second wife. Vijay Sethupathi lends his voice as the narrator.
Sathish Krishnan not only directed the film but also wrote the screenplay, with Mugil and R Savari Muthu contributing additional dialogues. The technical crew includes Jen Martin as the music composer, Harish Kannan as the cinematographer, and RC Pranav as the editor. Peter Hein, Dinesh Subbarayan, and Rambo Wimal choreographed the action sequences.
Kavin revealed that his character, Nelson Marcus, is named after successful filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar. Kavin has often expressed gratitude to Nelson for introducing him to the industry.
