Indian rapper Badshah and Nigerian singer Davido have released their highly anticipated collaboration, "Wallah Wallah". The song, which premiered on Friday, is described by Badshah as a sound "born in India but created for the world".
Badshah expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the cultural exchange it represents. "For me, this isn't just a collaboration; it's a cultural exchange, a celebration of movement and identity," he stated. He further emphasized his belief in the borderless nature of music and how this project reflects his evolving sound, which is becoming "more fearless, more global, yet still deeply grounded in where I come from".
Davido echoed Badshah's sentiments, acknowledging the unifying power of music. "Music has no borders, and 'Wallah Wallah' is proof of that," Davido said. He also praised the experience of working with Badshah, describing it as "pure magic" and highlighting the fusion of Afrobeats and Indian sounds. He added that the record is one that "brings people together, no matter where they're from".
"Wallah Wallah" marks Badshah's first collaboration with Davido, uniting their distinct styles and cultures. The song is produced by Hiten and was released via Pentertainment 0075 and distributed through Universal Music. The music video was shot in Atlanta under the direction of Rupan Bal.
The collaboration was first teased in late 2024, when the two artists shared a video clip of them creating music in a recording studio in Dubai, igniting excitement among fans worldwide. Badshah is known for his chart-topping hits across Asia, while Davido is a leading figure in the Afrobeats scene.
Badshah has previously collaborated with several international artists, including J Balvin, Tainy, Sean Paul, Major Lazer, Tiesto, and Lil Baby. "Wallah Wallah" is currently streaming on all major platforms.
In addition to "Wallah Wallah," Badshah recently collaborated with Natasha Bhardwaj for the track "Kokaina".
