"Baahubali: The Epic" Sees Expected Dip on Day 6, Still Mints ₹27 Crore at the Box Office
After a strong opening week, "Baahubali: The Epic" has experienced a significant drop in box office collections on its sixth day in theaters. The SS Rajamouli film, starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, and Anushka Shetty, managed to earn approximately ₹0.09 crore across all languages on its sixth day, bringing its total India net collection to an estimated ₹27.75 crore.
The film, originally released years ago, was re-released on a large scale in several countries, proving to be a successful move by the producers. Despite the dip in domestic earnings on Day 6, the film continues to perform well in the overseas market. In the first four days of its re-release, "Baahubali: The Epic" has grossed ₹11 crore overseas.
The breakdown of the film's performance in India over the first six days is as follows:
- Pre-sales: ₹1.15 crore
- Day 1: ₹9.65 crore
- Day 2: ₹7.25 crore
- Day 3: ₹6.3 crore
- Day 4: ₹1.75 crore
- Day 5: ₹1.65 crore
- Day 6: ₹0.05 crore (until 8 AM)
The film witnessed impressive occupancy rates in theaters during its initial five days. However, the sixth day saw a considerable decline, which is typical for films after their opening weekend. The movie is directed by S. S. Rajamouli and produced by Arka Media Works. The cast includes Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamanna Bhatia, Sathyaraj, Nassar, and Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles.
"Baahubali: The Epic" has not only garnered renewed attention from audiences but has also proven its enduring appeal by generating substantial revenue upon its re-release. The success of this re-release highlights the iconic status of the "Baahubali" franchise and the strong following it maintains both in India and abroad.
