After almost a decade-long wait, Tom Hiddleston is set to reprise his role as Jonathan Pine in The Night Manager Season 2, with the premiere officially slated for January 11, 2026, on Prime Video. The premiere will feature a drop of three episodes, followed by a weekly release each Sunday through February 1, when the sixth and final episode will be available. For UK viewers, the series will also be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
The debut season of The Night Manager captivated audiences in 2016, drawing over 10 million viewers and earning numerous accolades, including Golden Globe Awards for Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, and Hugh Laurie. The series, based on John le Carré’s novel, followed Jonathan Pine, a former British soldier and hotel night manager, as he was drawn into the world of espionage to infiltrate an arms dealer's inner circle.
Season 2 picks up years after the events of the first season. Jonathan Pine is living under the alias Alex Goodwin, operating as a low-level MI6 officer in London, running a quiet surveillance unit. However, his attempts to bury his past are disrupted when he encounters an old mercenary connected to Roper, thrusting him into a new, dangerous mission. This mission leads him to cross paths with Colombian businessman Teddy Dos Santos, played by Diego Calva, and Roxana Bolaños, portrayed by Camila Morrone, a businesswoman who reluctantly assists Pine in his endeavors against Teddy.
Olivia Colman returns as Angela Burr, and other familiar faces from Season 1 include Alistair Petrie as Sandy Langbourne, Douglas Hodge as Rex Mayhew, Michael Nardone as Frisky, and Noah Jupe as Daniel Roper. New additions to the cast include Indira Varma as Mayra, Paul Chahidi as Basil, and Hayley Squires as Sally.
The new season is set in the present day and promises to take Pine's story in a fresh and original direction. As Pine navigates a web of shifting allegiances, he becomes embroiled in a conspiracy with the potential to destabilize an entire nation. He must decide who to trust and how far he is willing to go before it's too late.
A teaser trailer has already been released, offering a glimpse into the high-stakes world of espionage that awaits in Season 2. The series was filmed in locations including Colombia, Spain, and France. "More than 75% of the story is about Colombia," according to Barry Ryan, head of production at Ink Factory.
Adding to the excitement, The Night Manager has already been greenlit for a third season. Producer Stephen Cornwell hinted that the setting for the third series would move away from Colombia.
