Following the massive success of "Chhaava," director Laxman Utekar is reportedly in talks with Shraddha Kapoor for his next directorial venture. According to Pinkvilla, Shraddha Kapoor recently met with producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, where Utekar was also present. The trio discussed a script that Kapoor has "principally agreed on."

Reportedly, the film is based on a Marathi novel. If the project materializes, Kapoor will portray a Maharashtrian character on screen. Sources indicate that the film is in its early stages, and there is a possibility of an A-list male actor joining the cast.

Shraddha Kapoor shares a strong working relationship with Maddock Films, further increasing the likelihood of this collaboration. Dinesh Vijan is keen on producing content that diverges from current trends, and he, along with Laxman Uttekar, presented Kapoor with a subject deeply rooted in Maharashtrian culture.

Laxman Utekar and Dinesh Vijan are also reportedly developing a project featuring three male leads.

"Chhaava," Utekar's recent film, is a historical action drama based on the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire. Vicky Kaushal plays the lead role, with Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and Rashmika Mandanna in a supporting role. "Chhaava" has been a box office success, earning over ₹500 crore and outperforming films such as "Animal" and "Pathaan".
