Chitrangda Singh recently reflected on her career, admitting that she regrets turning down roles in several major films, including "Gangster" and "Tanu Weds Manu." In a recent interview, the actress opened up about her career, her nine-year hiatus from the industry, and the personal struggles she faced.

Singh, who made her Bollywood debut with the critically acclaimed "Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi" in 2005, revealed that she was offered roles in Anurag Basu's "Gangster" and Aanand L. Rai's "Tanu Weds Manu," both of which went on to become major hits. She also mentioned declining a role in "Mangal Pandey: The Rising," which was eventually played by Ameesha Patel. Additionally, she revealed that she missed out on Shah Rukh Khan's "Chalte Chalte."

"I have made those mistakes," Singh confessed. "I said no to Anurag Basu's 'Gangster'. I refused 'Tanu Weds Manu'. In 'Mangal Pandey,' I said no to the role that Ameesha Patel played."

The actress attributed her decision to take a break from acting to personal reasons. "The first seven years of break were because of my personal life, my commitment to that, and I had a son," she explained. "I came back, and then I took another two-year break because I was going through a rough patch in my personal life again."

Singh acknowledged that her personal life had a significant impact on her career. While she doesn't believe being married or having a child negatively affected her opportunities, she admitted that she might have made some bad decisions due to her lack of experience in the industry. "I'm not from Mumbai, I'm not from the industry. So maybe I did end up making some bad decisions, but those were my mistakes," she said.

Despite these missed opportunities, Singh expressed gratitude for her journey in Bollywood. "I feel that everything has been more than I expected," she said. "In 20 years, there have been nine years of breaks in between. 11 years of working, and people have not forgotten me, so I feel grateful." She added that she never had a specific vision for her career and is happy with how things have turned out.

Looking ahead, Chitrangda Singh is set to appear in "Housefull 5" and reportedly star alongside Salman Khan in an upcoming film inspired by the Galwan Valley clash. This project will mark the first time she shares screen space with Salman Khan.
