Comedian and actor Vir Das recently shared a humorous anecdote about the late Rishi Kapoor and his wife, Neetu Kapoor, during an appearance on the "Moment of Silence" podcast with Sakshi Shivdasani and Naina Bhan. Das recounted a memorable in-flight incident where he witnessed the veteran couple engaging in a playful argument over a piece of cake.

Das, who had a brief role with Rishi Kapoor in the 2007 film "Namaste London", recalled his initial meeting with the actor during the shoot. He described how Kapoor had warmly greeted him, even complimenting his acting. Das humorously recounted the handshake, saying he felt like a heroine from one of Kapoor's iconic films, with all his "masculine energy" seemingly vanishing in that interaction. Kapoor had also urged him to promise that he would continue acting.

Years later, Das found himself on the same flight as Rishi and Neetu Kapoor. Seated in the back, he overheard a spirited exchange in business class. He described hearing a back-and-forth between a couple, where the woman insisted that the man avoid eating cake due to health restrictions, but the man adamantly demanded it. The exchange went something like this: "You can't eat the cake," followed by "I want to eat the cake!" Then, "You're not allowed to eat the cake. The doctor said no cake," and finally, "I want the bloody cake. What the f**k?".

To Das's surprise, Rishi Kapoor then stood up, spotted him, and immediately walked over. Kapoor left his business class seat to sit next to the comedian. As they talked, Kapoor began sharing stories of his contemporaries and the early days of his career. Then, mid-conversation, he noticed Das's untouched cake and casually asked if he planned to eat it. Before Das could respond, Kapoor went ahead and helped himself to the dessert. "He just ate my cake," Das recalled on the podcast, finding the moment both hilarious and memorable. He added that if anyone could get away with such a move, it was Rishi Kapoor.

The incident paints a vivid picture of Rishi Kapoor's personality—his charm, his impulsiveness, and his zest for life. It also highlights the affectionate dynamic between him and Neetu Kapoor, who, despite the playful bickering, clearly cared for his well-being. The anecdote serves as a fond reminder of the late actor's larger-than-life persona and the warmth he exuded. Vir Das's recollection offers a lighthearted glimpse into the lives of the beloved Bollywood couple, showcasing a moment of relatable domesticity amidst their glamorous lives.
