Sidharth Malhotra is pushing his limits for his role as Param in the upcoming film Param Sundari, directed by Tushar Jalota. The film, produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, is slated to release on August 29, 2025. The trailer has already generated significant buzz, showcasing a blend of romance, comedy, and vibrant visuals.
To authentically portray Param, Sidharth underwent rigorous training in Kalaripayattu, an ancient martial art originating from Kerala. This martial art is known for its graceful and demanding techniques, requiring speed, agility, and a deep understanding of body control. The actor dedicated months to mastering the art form, focusing on the distinctive rhythm, controlled energy, and swift footwork integral to Kalaripayattu. He worked closely with instructors to understand the philosophy behind the martial art, ensuring his portrayal embodied both the skill and the spirit of the discipline.
Adding to the physical challenges, Sidharth also filmed elaborate action sequences with elephants. This unique experience demanded not only strict safety measures but also a sense of trust and awareness around the animals. Coordinating action scenes while moving in sync with such powerful creatures presented a unique challenge, requiring him to adjust to their unpredictable responses while maintaining the scene's flow.
Param Sundari is a romantic comedy that tells a cross-cultural love story between Param, a Punjabi boy, and Sundari, a South Indian girl played by Janhvi Kapoor. The film explores their love story as it transcends geographical, linguistic, and cultural barriers. The trailer offers a glimpse of their playful interactions, set against the scenic backdrops of Kerala, including tranquil backwaters and lush greenery.
Sidharth described Param Sundari as a revisitation of the kind of romance he grew up loving, but told in a fresh and relatable way. He hopes the audience feels the same warmth and joy they felt while making the film, which was shot in the beautiful locales of Kerala.
The film's music is composed by Sachin–Jigar, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The soundtrack includes the songs "Pardesiya," sung by Sonu Nigam, Krishnakali Saha, and Sachin–Jigar, and "Bheegi Saree," sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Adnan Sami.
Param Sundari also features Rajeev Khandelwal, Aakash Dahiya, Manjot Singh, Sanjay Kapoor and Inayat Verma in key roles.
