Pawan Kalyan's highly anticipated Telugu historical drama, Hari Hara Veera Mallu (HHVM), has made its way to the digital platform, Amazon Prime Video, on August 20, 2025. This comes shortly after its theatrical release on July 24, 2025.
Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and Jyothi Krishna, the film features an ensemble cast including Pawan Kalyan, Bobby Deol, and Nidhhi Agerwal. Hari Hara Veera Mallu follows the journey of Veera Mallu (Pawan Kalyan), an outlaw on a quest to retrieve the Koh-i-Noor diamond from Mughal emperor Aurangzeb (Bobby Deol). The film also stars Sachin Khedekar, Raghubabu, Subbaraju, and Sunil.
The film's digital release includes Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi language options.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu received a lukewarm response from critics and audiences during its theatrical run, with many pointing to weak visual effects and a disjointed screenplay as reasons for the disappointment. According to Sacnilk, the film collected ₹84.3 crore net in India and ₹113.85 crore worldwide. Considering the film's high budget and production delays, these earnings were viewed as underwhelming.
The OTT version of Hari Hara Veera Mallu reportedly includes edits made after the theatrical release, with some sequences trimmed based on audience feedback. Specifically, the OTT version has been trimmed to provide a smoother experience, with approximately 15 minutes of footage cut. Scenes that drew criticism, such as horse-riding sequences and Pawan Kalyan's arrow-aiming scenes, have been toned down. The original ending, featuring a confrontation between Bobby Deol and Pawan Kalyan during a cyclone, has been removed, and the film now concludes after the "Asura Hananam" song, leading into the announcement of Part 2. The theatrical release was 162 minutes, while the Amazon Prime version is 153 minutes.
The official social media handle of Hari Hara Veera Mallu confirmed the film's availability on Amazon Prime Video, describing it as a tale of "rebellion, rage, and righteousness". The announcement emphasized that the storm which began in theaters would continue on streaming screens.
Despite the initial plan for an earlier release, the OTT premiere was strategically scheduled for August 20, 2025. Some fans expressed disappointment that the film arrived on streaming platforms so soon after its theatrical debut, while others hoped that the digital release would rectify the VFX issues present in the theatrical version.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu was initially touted as a pan-Indian film and marked Pawan Kalyan's return to the screen after becoming the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Although the film's theatrical performance did not meet expectations, the OTT release offers a chance for it to connect with a wider audience.
