Veteran actor Anupam Kher has stirred controversy by indirectly calling podcaster Raj Shamani "fake" in a viral video. The incident occurred during Kher's appearance on Chalchitra Talks, where he was promoting his latest film, "Tanvi the Great".
Kher's criticism stemmed from a previous podcast appearance, which many believe was on Raj Shamani's show, "Figuring Out With Raj Shamani". During that podcast, Kher was asked to give advice, which he shared at length. He said, "Son, don't let success change you. Success should mean becoming more humble. While you sound humble, the atmosphere in your office feels different. You've come from a small town, and that simplicity should remain".
According to Kher, this segment of his advice was removed from the final cut of the podcast. This led him to express his disappointment and indirectly label Shamani as "fake". "That means he is fake," Kher stated. "Because you asked me for advice, and then you cut out the part I said. Whenever I hear him talk about genuineness, I'll always question that".
During his appearance on Chalchitra Talks, Kher emphasized the importance of thorough research for podcast hosts, particularly those discussing films. He was surprised when the host admitted to not having seen "Tanvi the Great". Kher insisted that podcast hosts should be well-informed about their guests' recent work. "You should always research your guests and watch their latest films before inviting them. Otherwise, what is the point?" Kher stated, further insisting that the segment should be included in the final cut and not edited out.
Raj Shamani has yet to respond to Kher's comments.
In the podcast with Shamani, Kher also shared a heartfelt confession about his regret over not having children. He also mentioned his work with children through his foundation and a children's show he used to host.
