The 77th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, took place on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, celebrating the best in television from the past year. While Apple TV+'s "Severance" led the nominations with 27, the night belonged to Netflix's "Adolescence" and Apple TV+'s "The Studio".

"Adolescence," a British drama about a 13-year-old accused of murder, emerged as a dominant force, securing six awards, including Outstanding Limited Series. The series also garnered wins for Best Actor for co-creator Stephen Graham, Best Supporting Actor for 15-year-old Owen Cooper, Best Supporting Actress for Erin Doherty, as well as awards for directing and writing. Cooper's win was particularly notable, making him the youngest male actor to ever win an Emmy in that category. In his acceptance speech, Cooper shared, "This is so surreal... But I think tonight proves that if you listen and you focus and you step on the comfort zone, you can achieve. You can achieve anything in life".

"The Studio," a satire from Seth Rogen, also had a successful night, earning three Primetime Emmy Awards, in addition to the nine Creative Arts Emmys it had already won, bringing its total to a record-breaking 13. The series was awarded Outstanding Comedy Series, triumphing over "Abbott Elementary," "The Bear," "Hacks," "Nobody Wants This," "Only Murders in the Building," "Shrinking," and "What We Do in the Shadows". Rogen also took home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Rogen and Evan Goldberg also won an Emmy for Directing for a Comedy Series, and shared the Emmy for Best Writing for a Comedy Series with Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez. Rogen expressed his surprise and delight, stating he was "legitimately embarrassed by how happy this makes me".

In the drama categories, HBO Max's "The Pitt" was named Outstanding Drama Series, upsetting the heavily favored "Severance". Noah Wyle received his first Emmy for his lead role in "The Pitt," a medical drama set in a Pittsburgh hospital. Katherine LaNasa also won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in "The Pitt". Tramell Tillman won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role in "Severance", becoming the first Black man to win in the category. Backstage, Tillman acknowledged the Black actors who came before him, including the late Andre Braugher and Michael K. Williams.

Other notable wins included Hannah Einbinder for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for "Hacks" and Cristin Milioti for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama for "The Penguin". Stephen Colbert's "The Late Show" won Best Variety Talk Series, which was especially poignant as the show had recently been cancelled by CBS.
