Twinkle Khanna recently shared a humorous anecdote that left Alia Bhatt visibly stunned, involving a case of mistaken identity stemming from a tweet by the late Rishi Kapoor. The incident occurred during the filming of the latest episode of "Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle," a talk show hosted by Khanna alongside actress Kajol. Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan were guests on the show when the story unfolded.

Khanna recounted how a birthday tweet from Rishi Kapoor led to widespread confusion, with many people jokingly believing that she was his illegitimate daughter. The tweet in question referenced Rishi Kapoor's debut film, "Bobby," which also marked the debut of Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle Khanna's mother.

Rishi Kapoor's tweet read: "Happy Happy Birthday dear one! You were in your mum's tummy when I was serenading her in Bobby in 1973 lol". This message led some fans to believe that Twinkle was born out of wedlock.

Khanna explained, "I almost became a Kapoor because of Alia's father-in-law. On my birthday, he tweeted very generously, 'Oh you know... when you were in your mother's stomach, I serenaded her.' So everybody thought that I was his illegitimate daughter. Then he got trolled and he had to clarify, saying, 'No, I am so sorry'".

Rishi Kapoor later clarified the situation, explaining that Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia were already married when he was filming the song in "Bobby," and Dimple was three months pregnant at the time. He stated, "Kuch logon ko problem kya hai? Kakaji and Dimple were married, Bobby was still incomplete, we shot that song when Dimple was 3 months pregnant. Kakaji-Dimple married in March '73". "Bobby" was released in September 1973, and Twinkle was born in December of the same year.

Kajol and Varun Dhawan were also present during the narration. Kajol noticed Alia Bhatt's awkward reaction to the story, prompting Twinkle to quip, "I am not your sister-in-law, it was a mistake!". Varun added, "She doesn't know how to react".

Adding to the conversation, Alia Bhatt shared her fond memories of Rishi Kapoor, recalling the time she spent with him before dating Ranbir Kapoor. She mentioned that she and Rishi Kapoor would spend time together every evening during the shoot of "Kapoor & Sons". She fondly remembers him as a wonderful storyteller and appreciates the welcoming atmosphere he created on set. Alia also remarked that her daughter, Raha, reminds her of Rishi Kapoor, noting that Raha has some of his energy and charm.

Varun Dhawan also shared an anecdote about Rishi Kapoor from his debut film, "Student of the Year." He recalled an incident where Rishi Kapoor insisted that he and Sidharth Malhotra remove the hair gel they were wearing for a football scene. Kapoor felt their hair looked too perfect and wouldn't move naturally.
