Dhanashree Verma has recently spoken about her marriage and subsequent divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, revealing intricate details about their relationship on the reality show Rise and Fall. The couple, who officially divorced in March 2025, had a marriage that lasted roughly four years after tying the knot in December 2020.

Verma described their initial connection as a blend of love and an arranged marriage setup. She recounted that Chahal expressed a desire to get married without a period of dating. Verma admitted that she hadn't been planning on marriage at the time but was convinced by the affection and love shown during the process. The couple got engaged in August and married in December.

However, Verma revealed that she began noticing subtle changes in Chahal's behavior soon after their engagement. She described it as a difference in how people act when they are pursuing something versus when they have already attained it. Despite observing these shifts, she chose to place her trust in Chahal and their relationship. "Even though I saw him changing, I put my trust in him and the relationship," she stated.

In a candid conversation with actor Arjun Bijlani, Verma shared that she believes in giving people around her too many chances. She admitted to trying everything she could to make the relationship work and giving it her all. Earlier in the show, Verma hinted that she caught Chahal cheating within the first year of their marriage. Specifically, she stated she caught him in the second month of their marriage.

Despite the difficulties and eventual dissolution of their marriage, Verma expressed that she will always care for Chahal’s well-being. When asked if they could ever be friends again, Verma responded that she would always be concerned for him, emphasizing that this care would never disappear.

Verma also addressed the emotional challenges she faced during and after the divorce. She recounted feeling overwhelmed when the divorce verdict was delivered, despite being mentally prepared. She also spoke about the social media criticism she faced post-divorce. Verma highlighted the importance of not labeling women without knowing the full story and expressed her happiness at being accepted and appreciated in her industry post-divorce.

Following their separation, Chahal was seen with RJ Mahvash, sparking rumors of a new relationship, though both maintain they are just friends. Verma has focused on her personal well-being and career, including an upcoming Telugu debut in a dance-based film. She has also addressed rumors about alimony, clarifying that the divorce was mutual and there was no such arrangement. Verma stated that she only feels the need to justify herself to those she cares about, dismissing the need to explain herself to outsiders.

Chahal has also spoken about the divorce, stating that he and Verma had agreed to keep their issues private until the divorce was finalized. He addressed wearing a "Be Your Own Sugar Daddy" T-shirt during the proceedings, stating it was a response to something from Verma's side.
