Samantha Ruth Prabhu is reportedly returning to Hyderabad to commence shooting for her upcoming Telugu film, Maa Inti Bangaram. After dedicating time to various web series projects and other professional commitments in Mumbai, the actress is shifting her focus back to Tollywood.
The film, Maa Inti Bangaram, is directed by Nandini Reddy, marking another collaboration between the director and Samantha, who have previously worked together on successful films like Oh! Baby and Jabardasth. The script is penned by the dynamic filmmaker duo, Raj & DK. The film is produced under Samantha's own banner, Tralala Moving Pictures.
Samantha confirmed her involvement in Maa Inti Bangaram during an interactive Q&A session with fans on Instagram, stating that the film would commence shooting this month. The film was initially announced in April 2024, on Samantha's birthday, with a first-look poster that depicted her in an intense, action-oriented role. The poster showcased Samantha in a saree and mangalsutra, with blood on her face and henna on her hands, holding a gun. Maa Inti Bangaram translates to "Our Home's Treasure".
Pre-production for Maa Inti Bangaram is reportedly in its final stages, with Nandini Reddy having finalized the cast and crew. Shooting is scheduled to take place in and around Hyderabad.
Samantha's return to Telugu cinema follows a brief hiatus, with her last full-fledged Telugu role being in the 2023 film Kushi, alongside Vijay Deverakonda. Since then, she had a cameo in Subham, a horror-comedy that was the first project produced by Tralala Moving Pictures. She also starred in the Hindi web series Citadel: Honey Bunny. She is also currently working on Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom with Raj and DK.
Samantha had taken a break in 2023 after being diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune condition, and has since prioritized her health and wellness.
Samantha's decision to produce Maa Inti Bangaram under her own banner signifies her desire for creative control and a financial stake in the project. Her return to Hyderabad is not only a personal one but also a professional one, with filming planned across various locations in the city.
