Vijay Deverakonda and Keerthy Suresh have officially announced their collaboration for the upcoming film, tentatively titled Rowdy Janardhan. The film was launched with a traditional pooja ceremony held earlier today, with photos quickly going viral on social media. This marks the first time Vijay Deverakonda and Keerthy Suresh will share screen space as a lead pair, although they were both part of the cast of Mahanati.
The film, which is being produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations, is directed by Ravi Kiran Kola, known for his work in Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru (2019) and Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam (2022). The producers shared the announcement on social media with the caption: “A Wild Beginning.. LOVE - RAGE - BLOOD. The most anticipated @TheDeverakonda x @storytellerkola’s #SVC59 has begun today with an auspicious Pooja Ceremony. #VDKolaMassThaandavam Begins..". Producer Dil Raju had earlier revealed that the film's official name will be Rowdy Janardhan.
Pictures from the pooja ceremony show Vijay Deverakonda in a casual blue t-shirt and black trousers, while Keerthy Suresh is adorned in a blue and beige half-saree. The event was also attended by Hanu Raghavapudi, Dil Raju, and Allu Arvind.
Rowdy Janardhan is touted to be a rural mass entertainer, a departure from Vijay Deverakonda's recent films. Vijay Deverakonda is reportedly looking for a blockbuster after his recent films did not perform as expected at the box office. The film is set to be shot across various locations in India, including Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.
The technical crew includes Anend Chandran of Premam fame as the cinematographer, Christo Xavier, known for his work in Brahmayugam, Turbo, and Sooshmadarshini, as the music composer, and Dino Shankar as the production designer. Reportedly, Dil Raju has brought in technicians from Malayalam cinema for this project.
While Vijay Deverakonda is currently working with Taxiwala director Rahul Sankrityan under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, he is expected to simultaneously shoot for Rowdy Janardhan. Keerthy Suresh was last seen in Uppu Kappurambu, a Prime Video Original film. This project is considered Keerthy Suresh's biggest project after her marriage.
