Kapil Sharma's Cafe Targeted Again: Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility for Latest Shooting Incident.

Surrey, Canada – Shots were fired at Kap's Cafe, owned by Indian comedian Kapil Sharma, in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, late Wednesday night. This marks the second shooting at the establishment in less than a month.

According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 4:40 am on August 7, 2025, at Kap's Café, located at 85 Avenue and Scott Road. At least 25 shots were fired from a moving vehicle, causing extensive damage to the windows and building. Fortunately, no staff members were injured.

Shortly after the attack, Goldy Dhillon, allegedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility in a social media post. In the post, Dhillon stated he is affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi group and issued a warning to Sharma. Kulvir Sidhu, also reportedly a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has also allegedly claimed responsibility for the shooting.

This is the second time Kap's Cafe has been targeted. On July 10, 2025, a man wearing a body camera opened fire at the cafe. At that time, Germany-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) militant Harjeet Singh Laddi claimed responsibility, citing alleged derogatory remarks made by Sharma about Nihang Sikhs.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) responded to the incident on August 7, with numerous police resources and Delta Police Department units. The SPS Frontline Investigative Support (FLIS) Team has taken over the investigation. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby establishments and have stepped up security in the area.

The recent attack has sparked concerns within the Indian community in Canada. Just days before the second shooting, a community lunch was held at Kap's Cafe with Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke and members of the police service to promote safety and solidarity.

An audio recording has surfaced where Harry Boxer, allegedly a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, stated that the cafe was targeted because Kapil Sharma invited Salman Khan to the inauguration of a Netflix show. Boxer warned that any director, producer, or artist working with Salman Khan would be targeted. Salman Khan has been a target of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang due to his involvement in the 1998 killing of a black buck.

Following the initial shooting in July, Kapil Sharma had reopened the cafe on July 20, announcing, "The lights are on, the coffee is warm and our hearts are full".

Mumbai Police have increased security for Kapil Sharma following the incidents.
