Rajat Bedi, known for his role in "The Ba***ds of Bollywood," has drawn parallels between Shah Rukh Khan and his son, Aryan Khan, highlighting a shared trait of "overconfidence". In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Bedi noted that Aryan possesses a similar "I'll be No. 1" attitude, mirroring the ambition and spirit of his father.
Bedi, who has worked with both Shah Rukh and Aryan Khan, shared his observations on the similarities between the father-son duo. He recounted his experience working as an assistant director with Shah Rukh Khan in "Zamaana Deewana". He also praised Aryan's hard work, dedication, and comic timing in his directorial debut, "The Ba***ds of Bollywood".
"One thing I noticed, the similarity between the two is overconfidence," Bedi stated. "Everything I saw in Shahrukh Sir, I see in his son. His son has this “I will be number one” attitude. He has the same spirit of wanting to be number one in his field, just like his father. Watching that was really nice".
Despite Aryan's reserved public persona, Bedi revealed that he is playful, witty, and funny off-camera. He emphasized Aryan's strong values and the respect he shows to everyone on set, crediting Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan for instilling these qualities in their children. Bedi also dismissed the notion that Aryan has it easy because of his father's fame, emphasizing the hard work and dedication Aryan has put into his projects. "The show is a result of Aryan and all his associates. That baccha (kid) has worked very hard," Bedi said. "Please don't ever feel that he is Shah Rukh's son and he's got everything on a platter. The boy has worked really hard. He doesn't sleep. He's been up and about".
Bedi also shared that Aryan and his friends are fans of the film "Koi Mil Gaya". He also lauded Aryan's ability to revive classic film moments and present them in an entertaining way in "The Ba***ds of Bollywood". He said, "If he weren't humorous, the show wouldn't have succeeded. It wouldn't have been as engaging".
