The latest buzz began after Sonakshi was seen at the Vikram Phadnis fashion show and Ramesh Taurani's Diwali celebration. Social media users speculated that she was trying to conceal a baby bump with her choice of outfit and poses. Sonakshi responded to the rumors with a witty Instagram post. Sharing a carousel of pictures from Ramesh Taurani's Diwali celebration, she included a playful caption: "World record holder for longest pregnancy in human history (16 months and counting according to our lovely and hyper-intelligent media) simply for posing with a hand around midsection". The final image in the carousel captured Sonakshi and Zaheer laughing, seemingly amused by the rumors.

Previously, Sonakshi had addressed pregnancy rumors by sharing a screenshot of a text exchange with Zaheer, humorously blaming him for constantly feeding her. In the texts, Zaheer was seen asking Sonakshi if she was hungry even after she had just had dinner. She captioned the screenshot, "The reason why everyone thinks I'm preggos. Stop it @iamzahero".
Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding took place on June 23, 2024, in a private ceremony with close friends and family. The couple, who co-starred in the film Double XL, had a civil marriage at Sonakshi's Bandra apartment. The wedding was followed by a reception attended by numerous Bollywood celebrities.
