Twenty-five years after its debut, the cast of the iconic Indian television drama Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii reunited to celebrate the show's silver jubilee. A heartwarming video capturing the reunion was shared by actor Shweta Kawatra, who played Pallavi Agarwal, on her social media, quickly going viral and evoking nostalgia among fans.
The video features Sakshi Tanwar (Parvati Agarwal), Shweta Kawatra, Sweta Keswani (Avantika), and Sucheta Trivedi (Shilpa) joyfully reintroducing their characters. Each actor proudly announces their iconic roles, radiating the same chemistry and warmth that defined the show. Veteran actor Deepak Qazir, who played Bapuji, also joined the reunion, seated at the center as the "bahus" gathered around him, sharing laughter and fond memories from their time on set.
Kawatra captioned the video with heartfelt words: "Met as strangers. Hung as friends. Became a tribe. 25 years or 25 blinks, we wouldn't know. Be it Bahus or Babuji, memories or marriages, we did it all here. And we did it with elan! #theOGs #kahaanighargharkii".
Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, created by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, first aired on October 16, 2000. The show, which aired on Star Plus from 2000 to 2008, revolved around the Agarwal family, exploring family values, struggles, and relationships within a joint family. It became a defining series of Indian television, running alongside Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The chemistry between Parvati (Sakshi Tanwar) and Om (Kiran Karmarkar) was widely praised.
Ekta Kapoor also commemorated the show's 25th anniversary with an emotional social media post. She reflected on the show's impact, writing, "25 years of this show! At 25, making a story on family values, culture, and love, symbolic of the Ramayan, was ironic, but it became a beacon of hope for so many". She further added, "Sakshi Tanwar and the whole cast of this show plus the creative teams like Mitu Prashant Dheeraj mahesh sandip and all the directors made this show a beacon of hope for those scrambling representation of a culture that was not celebrated enough then... 25 years of this beautiful journey, and the best part is Sakshi still looks the same!".
Earlier this week, Sakshi Tanwar and Kiran Karmarkar reunited on the set of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, led by Smriti Irani. According to reports, Parvati and Om will play a role in bringing Mihir Virani (Amar Upadhyay) and Tulsi Virani (Smriti) together in a special episode.
