The Shetty household is illuminated with joy this Diwali as they prepare to celebrate the festival with their newest member, Evaarah, the daughter of Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul. Ahan Shetty, Evaarah's uncle, expressed his excitement, stating that having his niece around has made the festive season "ten times more special".
Ahan shared with Hindustan Times that Diwali is about spending quality time with family and close friends. He mentioned that he had been traveling for the past two years and couldn't be in Mumbai for Diwali, making this year particularly special because it marks Evaarah's first Diwali celebration. He added that the family is brimming with excitement, anticipating many firsts with the little one. Unfortunately, KL Rahul is currently in Australia for India's tour, but the rest of the family will be together to celebrate.
Ahan fondly referred to Evaarah as the "brightest light this Diwali," emphasizing the immense love and happiness she has brought into their lives. He said that their family already shared a strong bond, but Evaarah's presence has amplified it. Ahan also revealed his intentions to be a doting uncle who pampers Evaarah, but also someone who can be a bit serious when the need arises to teach her important values.
Ahan has previously shared glimpses of his bond with Evaarah on social media. In one instance, he posted a charming black-and-white photo of Evaarah holding onto his finger, accompanied by the caption "Har Khushi Mili". Another heartwarming picture showed him cradling her while she slept, with a serene sea view in the background.
Ahan also spoke about the changes he has observed in his sister, Athiya, since she became a mother. He noted that motherhood has brought out a new, nurturing side to her and expressed his pride in witnessing her hands-on approach to caring for Evaarah. He jokingly added that he is happy the attention has shifted from him to Evaarah.
Evaarah was born on March 24th of this year. KL Rahul later shared the meaning behind her name, revealing that Evaarah means "Gift of God". Suniel Shetty has also expressed his joy, stating that Evaarah is the cynosure of everyone's eyes.
On the professional front, Ahan Shetty is set to appear in the film Border 2, alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh, which is slated for release on January 23, 2026.
