Hyderabad, October 21, 2025 - Actor Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi are celebrating a very special Diwali this year with the newest addition to their family, their son Vaayuv Tej. The couple welcomed Vaayuv on September 10, 2025, and recently revealed his name on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. The name Vaayuv Tej Konidela carries a deep spiritual significance, embodying "unstoppable force, devotion, courage, and spiritual radiance," and carrying "the spirit of Lord Hanuman".
Varun and Lavanya, who tied the knot in November 2023 in Tuscany, Italy, are cherishing their first Diwali as parents. Lavanya expressed her excitement in a recent interview with Hyderabad Times, stating that this year is particularly special because Vaayuv is part of the festivities.
Like every year, the couple will celebrate Diwali at Chiranjeevi's residence in Jubilee Hills. Lavanya mentioned that they would first perform puja at their own house before heading to Chiranjeevi's house to celebrate with the rest of the family. Varun Tej also shared details about their Diwali plans, "Around seven in the evening, we head to Chiranjeevi garu's house and spend the night with the whole family. Earlier, we used to burst crackers ourselves; now the younger kids do, and we just watch. There's plenty of good food, long conversations, and traditional outfits — for us, it's all about being together".
The Diwali celebrations are a warm, family-centered affair, also attended by Naga Babu, Padmaja, and Niharika, highlighting the close-knit bonds that define the Tej family. Chiranjeevi also shared a heartwarming message on social media, welcoming the newest member of the Konidela family. He expressed his happiness for Varun and Lavanya and wished the baby boy abundant happiness, good health, and blessings.
Varun Tej credited his uncle Chiranjeevi for keeping the family close and instilling a sense of togetherness. He revealed that Chiranjeevi hosts get-togethers every Sunday and during festivals, a tradition that has been going on for 30 years.
Varun and Lavanya met while working together on the film Mister in 2017. They also acted together in Antariksham 9000 KMPH in 2018. After dating for a few years, the couple got engaged in June 2023 in Hyderabad.
On the professional front, Varun Tej is currently involved in an Indo-Korean horror thriller, tentatively titled VT15. Fans eagerly anticipate his upcoming project.
