Chennai, October 22, 2025 - Actress Sakshi Agarwal has publicly expressed her gratitude to the Tamil Nadu Police for their prompt and efficient response to a bomb threat targeting her residence and office. The actress took to social media platform X on Tuesday to acknowledge the police's swift action, assuring her fans of her safety and stating that the threat was under investigation.
Sources close to Agarwal revealed that the bomb threat was delivered via mail, prompting immediate action from the Tamil Nadu Police. Law enforcement officials quickly mobilized to assess and neutralize the potential danger.
"Thank you @tnpoliceoffl #tndgp for your due diligence and immediate response to the Bomb Threat to my house and office! To my fans, we are safe and the bomb threat is being investigated!" the actress posted on X.
Sakshi Agarwal is the latest in a string of Tamil Nadu celebrities to have received such threats. Actresses Trisha, Nayanthara, and actor Vijay have also been targeted with similar bomb threats in recent times. Earlier this month, a bomb threat against Trisha's residence in Teynampet was investigated and ultimately deemed a hoax. Police, along with sniffer dogs, thoroughly searched Trisha's home before determining the threat was unfounded. Vijay has also received multiple threats. A recent threat was made against his Neelankarai residence, which led to a police investigation. Another threat was issued after the Karur tragedy.
In addition to celebrities, prominent political figures in Tamil Nadu, including Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and opposition leader Edappadi K. Palanisamy, have also been targets of similar threats. Last month, the residence of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami in Chennai was also subject to a bomb threat.
Despite the threats often turning out to be hoaxes, the Tamil Nadu police are diligently working to identify the individuals responsible for these acts. The increase in such threats has prompted law enforcement to dedicate resources to uncovering the source and preventing future incidents.
