Riddhima Kapoor Sahni: Father's Loss Strengthened My Bond With Brother Ranbir Kapoor During Difficult Times.

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, sister of Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, has spoken about how the bond with her brother deepened after the passing of their father, the legendary Rishi Kapoor, in April 2020. In various interviews, Riddhima has shared insights into her relationship with Ranbir and how the family coped with the loss.

Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020, after battling leukemia for two years. His death was a profound loss for the Kapoor family, who were very close to him. Riddhima, who lives in Delhi with her husband Bharat Sahni, had difficulty reaching Mumbai due to travel restrictions during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic. She eventually got permission to travel by road but arrived after the last rites. Ranbir and their mother, Neetu Kapoor, broke the news of Rishi's death to her via FaceTime, which she described as a deeply shaking experience.

In a recent interview, Riddhima shared that the loss of their father brought her and Ranbir closer. "Losing Papa brought us even closer. Our bond has always been strong, but now it's deeper," she said. She described Ranbir as the "pillar of the family," highlighting his supportive role in their lives. "He's a pillar in the family now. He's there for me, for our mother; he's just always around, always dependable," Riddhima stated. She also noted that Ranbir is someone she can always turn to for advice.

Riddhima also fondly spoke of her childhood bond with Ranbir, sharing anecdotes of their sibling dynamic. Despite growing up in a famous family, she said their relationship was "very normal" with the usual teasing and occasional fights. She also mentioned that they have always been fiercely protective of each other. Ranbir, in a light-hearted way, mentioned Riddhima's "anger issues" growing up, but also acknowledged her unfiltered and honest nature, which she inherited from their father.

Riddhima also reflected on how the family dealt with their grief after Rishi Kapoor's death. She revealed that they would often retreat to separate rooms to cry privately, only to emerge and act normal. While they didn't openly express their emotions to each other, this practice brought them closer and allowed them to support each other.

In other interviews, Riddhima addressed the insensitive trolling that the family faced after Rishi Kapoor's death. She recalled that people judged them for appearing happy in public, not understanding the pain they were going through. "People used to say, 'Oh, they look so happy, and they are going out, and they are doing this.' But you have to come home and see what happens," she said. She also admired her mother, Neetu Kapoor's strength during that difficult time.

Riddhima recently made her acting debut in the Netflix series "Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives". Her family has been supportive of her new venture.

Rishi Kapoor's last wishes were to see Ranbir get married and to see the completion of the Kapoor family home. While he couldn't witness these events, Riddhima said that the family felt his presence during Ranbir's wedding to Alia Bhatt. She described Alia as an amazing person and praised her relationship with her mother, Neetu. Riddhima also expressed her love for Ranbir and Alia's daughter, Raha, mentioning that she resembles both Alia and Rishi Kapoor.
