Park Bom Alleges YG Fraud; D Nation Responds With Denial: A K-Pop Controversy Unfolds.

Park Bom, former member of the globally recognized K-pop group 2NE1, has ignited a controversy by accusing YG Entertainment, her former label, and its founder Yang Hyun-suk, of fraud and embezzlement. The allegations, which include claims of unpaid earnings from her time with 2NE1, were initially made in a now-deleted Instagram post that featured an image resembling a legal document. The post has sparked widespread confusion and concern regarding the singer's well-being.

In the contentious Instagram post on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Bom shared a photo of what she described as a "Letter of Report" against Yang Hyun-suk. Captioned with "Park Bom hates YG. Everyone, please investigate what YG did to Park Bom," the post alleged that Yang had failed to properly compensate her for her work, including music releases, concerts, broadcasts, advertisements, events, songwriting, and composing. The document stated that she was suing Yang for fraud and embezzlement. The amount of damages she claimed to be owed was an astounding "1002003004006007001000034 '64272e trillion won," approximately $4.5 quadrillion USD, a figure exceeding South Korea's entire GDP. The post also exposed her personal phone number.

The exorbitant sum and the unconfirmed nature of the legal document led to immediate speculation and debate among fans and industry observers. The online community reacted with disbelief, questioning the authenticity of the claims and expressing concern for Park Bom's mental health. The post was soon deleted but later re-uploaded with a slightly altered message.

In response to the uproar, D-Nation Entertainment, Park Bom's current agency, issued a statement refuting the singer's allegations. The agency asserted that "all settlements related to Park Bom's 2NE1 activities have already been completed," and that "there is no record that the complaint uploaded to social media was ever filed". D-Nation Entertainment also stated that Park Bom has halted all activities and is focusing on treatment and recovery, vowing to provide their best support for her health. The agency's statement also described Park Bom as being "beyond our control".

YG Entertainment and Yang Hyun-suk have not released an official statement regarding the matter. However, a high-ranking music industry official told OSEN that Yang Hyun-suk expressed concern for Park Bom's health rather than disappointment or anger.

Park Bom has been on hiatus from 2NE1-related activities since August, due to health reasons. Her recent social media activity and the conflicting statements from the artist and her agency have amplified concerns about her well-being. Some fans have noted her erratic behavior on social media prior to this incident, including repeatedly suggesting a romance with actor Lee Min-ho.

The situation remains unclear, with the only source of the lawsuit claim being Park Bom's deleted Instagram post. As of now, there is no official confirmation of any legal proceedings between Park Bom and YG Entertainment. If the claims are proven false, there could be legal repercussions, although many believe the situation will subside unless verifiable evidence emerges.
