Sonal Chauhan, known for her roles in films like "Jannat" and "Adipurush," has officially joined the cast of "Mirzapur: The Film". The actress shared her excitement on social media, expressing that she is still processing the news. She conveyed her enthusiasm about being part of such an incredible and game-changing journey.
Chauhan also shared a glimpse of the welcome gift hamper she received from Excel Entertainment, along with a note from producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The note expressed their excitement about having her on the team and their anticipation to see the magic she brings to the screen.
"Still sinking in....So glad to be a part of a journey so incredible and game-changing,” Sonal shared on her social media. "I'm immensely excited to join Mirzapur: The Film, and I can't wait for you all to see what we have to unpack on the screen!".
"Mirzapur: The Film," announced last year, will feature the return of several fan-favorite characters. Pankaj Tripathi will reprise his role as Kaleen Bhaiya, alongside Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi, and Shweta Tripathi as Golu Gupta. Abhishek Banerjee and Jitendra Kumar are also part of the cast.
According to sources, Sonal Chauhan's addition to the cast will bring a new dimension to the film's plot, adding excitement and a refreshing energy to the storyline. While specific details about her role are currently under wraps, her presence is expected to enhance the film's narrative.
"Mirzapur," the original series, was created by Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna. The crime thriller, backed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment, is directed by Gurmmeet Singh. The series tells the story of two brothers who become entangled in the lawless world of Mirzapur after a conflict with the son of a local crime lord. The series has been filmed primarily across Uttar Pradesh, including locations such as Mirzapur, Lucknow, Jaunpur, and Varanasi.
In addition to her role in "Mirzapur: The Film," Sonal Chauhan is also set to make her Punjabi film debut in "Shera," alongside Parmish Verma, which is scheduled to release on May 15th, 2026.
