Shah Rukh Khan's King To Include Special Song Collaboration With Enrique Iglesias?
Rumors are swirling that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan may collaborate with international pop icon Enrique Iglesias for a high-energy song in his upcoming film, King. The buzz began after Iglesias arrived in Mumbai for a two-day concert at MMRDA Grounds, sparking speculation about a potential meeting with SRK to discuss future collaborations.
Sources suggest that Iglesias is enamored with Indian culture and is planning to explore the sights and savor authentic Indian cuisine during his visit. The timing of his trip has fueled rumors, with many believing it's more than just a concert.
The rumored song is expected to be a vibrant, energetic track that blends Bollywood beats with Latin rhythms, creating a unique sonic experience. Social media is already buzzing with excitement from fans, with many calling this potential crossover a "dream come true". Edits, memes, and speculative videos are circulating online, further amplifying the rumors.
While neither camp has officially confirmed the collaboration, industry insiders hint at a "high-energy track" that combines Bollywood's signature style with Iglesias's trademark Latin pop flavor.
King, directed by Siddharth Anand, is highly anticipated. Shah Rukh Khan himself confirmed that King would be his next film after taking a break in 2023. He also mentioned that Anand is working hard to complete the film. The movie will also star his daughter, Suhana Khan, marking her first big-screen appearance. Initial reports slated the film for a Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release. However, the release has been postponed to 2027 due to a shoulder injury sustained by SRK during an action sequence. The injury required weeks of rest, leading to a halt in filming and cancellation of studio bookings.
Khan was injured while shooting an intense action sequence in Mumbai. While details about the injury were kept under wraps, he reportedly sought treatment in the US. While it was described as more of a muscular strain, doctors advised him to rest completely.
Khan has acknowledged the film's title is "a bit of a show-off". Originally, Sujoy Ghosh was supposed to direct King, but Anand took over. Filming began last year. Besides Suhana Khan, the film will reportedly star Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan. King is said to be a revenge thriller packed with action, emotions, and drama. High-energy action scenes have already been filmed, some with SRK's body double.
The possible collaboration with Iglesias adds another layer of anticipation to King. If the rumors are true, this could be a major milestone in cross-cultural music collaborations, uniting Bollywood and Latin pop on one stage.
