Kelsey Grammer, the acclaimed actor best known for his roles in "Cheers" and "Frasier," has become a father for the eighth time at the age of 70. Grammer and his wife, Kayte Walsh, 46, recently welcomed a baby boy named Christopher. This is their fourth child together.

Grammer shared the joyous news during an appearance on the "Pod Meets World" podcast on October 27, 2025. While discussing his memoir, "Karen: A Brother Remembers," Grammer casually announced the arrival of his son. "We just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids," Grammer said. "It was like three days ago - Christopher just joined the family".

Christopher joins Grammer and Walsh's other children: daughter Faith, 12, and sons Gabriel, 10, and James, 8. Grammer also has three children from previous relationships: daughter Spencer, 41, with his first wife Doreen Alderman; daughter Greer, 33, with Barrie Buckner; and daughter Mason, 23, and son Jude, 20, with ex-wife Camille Grammer.

News of Walsh's pregnancy first surfaced in June 2025 when she was photographed with a baby bump while in London with Grammer. The couple has been married since February 2011.

In a May 2024 interview with PEOPLE, Grammer spoke about fatherhood, admitting he felt he had "neglected" some of his older children and was trying to make up for it. He emphasized the importance of showing up for his children, regardless of their age. He also expressed that his happiest moments are when all his children are together.

Grammer's career has allowed him to provide for his family and create memorable experiences. He told Variety in June 2024 that fatherhood has been "painful and challenging and hard and tragic—all those things. But boy, it's a great life. And I want to pass that on to them".

Grammer is not the only celebrity to have children later in life. Al Pacino welcomed his fourth child at 83 in June 2023, and Robert De Niro had his seventh child at 79. Mick Jagger became a father for the eighth time at 73 in 2016.
