RM's Powerful Message: Breaking Boundaries and Limitations for a Limitless Future, Says BTS Leader

Gyeongju, South Korea – RM, the leader of the globally renowned South Korean boyband BTS, delivered a powerful message at a business event held on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, advocating for "no borders, no limitations". Addressing an audience of global leaders and executives, the 31-year-old rapper and songwriter emphasized the vital role of cultural openness and diversity in fostering creativity and innovation.

RM, acknowledging himself as an artist rather than a business leader, spoke as a creator, highlighting that BTS's worldwide success stems from diversity without borders. His statement comes at a crucial time, as the APEC forum grapples with concerns about rising protectionism.

"When cultural barriers come down and different voices harmonize together, there's an explosion of creative energy," RM stated. He attributed K-Pop's widespread appeal to its ability to unite people and break down barriers through the power of music, referencing BTS's global fan club, ARMY, as an example of cultural solidarity transcending borders.

In a symbolic gesture, RM compared culture to a freely flowing river and K-Pop to bibimbap, a traditional Korean dish comprising a harmonious mix of various ingredients with rice. This analogy underscored his message about the beauty and strength found in diversity and inclusion.

The APEC forum also featured addresses from U.S. President Donald Trump and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, who later engaged in tariff talks. South Korea is increasingly relying on cultural exports to bolster its economy amidst growing protectionist barriers impacting traditional manufacturing sectors. President Lee has pledged unwavering support for the K-Pop industry, with the aim of establishing South Korea as a global cultural powerhouse.

RM's message resonated deeply within this context. He stated, "K-Pop's shiny success is proof that cultural diversity and creativity are the greatest human potential. Of course, no borders, no limitations".

The appearance of RM at the APEC summit coincides with BTS's highly anticipated reunion, following the completion of mandatory military service by all seven members. The group is currently preparing for a comeback with a new album slated for release next year, followed by a world tour, further amplifying their global impact.
